Parenthood is a whole new experience for any couple. From conceiving till giving birth to a newborn is a phase parents cherish for their life. As amazing the experience, it comes with many challenges as well.

If you are a first-timer then things can be quite challenging as it is not an easy job to be ‘Parents’. Women get parental leave as they need rest and get accommodated to the new life as a mother.

However, there were no such leaves for father till now. Finland comes with a great revolution and becomes the first country to give paid leave for 7 months to the new parents to be.

Leaving your child and going for work is a tough task in itself. Maternity leaves are a common thing. While dads return to work mothers alone have to feed and take care of the child which becomes quite exhausting for new moms.

This 7-month paternal leave will involve fathers to take part in the parental activities equally.

In the policy, 14 months of leave will be granted to the parents. However, the flexibility of transferring leaves to another partner is also an option. If one parent wants to work he/she can give the leaves to one parent.

This is a good decision made by Finland Government that will make the dads even more responsible.
