The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has decided to rename the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium as Arun Jaitley stadium. The stadium was renamed after his former president who passed away on Saturday.
The renaiming will take place on September 12.
Speaking of the initiative, it was Arun Jaitley who supported and encouraged players. The DDCA President Rajat Sharma said:
Talking to Gautam Gambhir he said-
“It’s a good thing that the stadium is being named after Arun Jaitley, because he was instrumental in giving Delhiites a modern cricket stadium. However, I would have been much happier if this was done when he was still alive, so that he could have seen it himself. That would have been the most fitting tribute.”
In a fitting tribute to its former President #ArunJaitley , Delhi and District Cricket Association has decided to name Ferozeshah Kotla stadium as Arun Jaitley Stadium. The stadium will be named Arun Jaitley stadium, the name of the ground will remain as Ferozeshah Kotla ground.

During Jaitley’s tenure, he had focused more on increasing the seating capacity for fans rather than investing on fancy changing rooms.
The function will be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, and will be graced by Home Minister, Amit Shah and Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju.
