After deleting 1.5 million videos of the New Zealand attack from its platform, Facebook has now disclosed more information related to the expansion of distribution of terrible videos.
In its official blog, Facebook highlighted the number of times the video, first live streamed by the gunman, was publicized or seen on the platform.
The video was viewed less than 200 times during live broadcast and during that live broadcast, no user reported the video.
Before Facebook took action, the video was watched nearly 4,000 times, including views during the live broadcast, indicating that the distribution had already started.
The first report on the original live stream video came 29 minutes after the video began and 12 minutes after the live broadcast ended. Meanwhile, a user posted a link to a copy of the video on the file-sharing site.
Very soon, Facebook deleted personal accounts of named suspect from its services and continued to identify and remove any imposter accounts.
The original video has also been deleted and hashed so that no version of the video is visible.
