Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said on Friday that the Electric Vehicles Policy 2.0 is the final one which aims to target commercial vehicles to reduce pollution in the capital city. Kailash Gahlot said all vehicles have to be electric beyond 2030.

Talking, Kailash Gahlot said, “While expanding armada size, there are explicit focuses for EV acceptance. We are currently at 10% EVs of the all-out vehicles in Delhi.”

Last month, talking about the Electric Vehicles Strategy 2.0, Kailash Gahlot said that the Electric Vehicles Strategy 2.0 will take a gander at boosting retrofitting of vehicles thinking about its significant expense.

The Delhi Electric Vehicles Strategy 2020 lapsed on August 8 this year and the public authority had said that the sponsorship being given under it would go on till another arrangement gets advised. Today, Kailash Gahlot said this was the last arrangement.

Last month, speaking about the Electric Vehicles Policy 2.0, Kailash Gahlot said that the EV Policy 2.0 will look at incentivizing retrofitting of vehicles considering its high cost. In the subsequent stage, he said, 750 additional vehicles will be presented and positioned. Stage three will be the last stage in which the leftover 750 vehicles will be presented

The Delhi minister noted that last-mile connectivity is another focus for the government. In the second phase, he said, 750 more vehicles will be introduced and stationed. Phase three will be the final phase in which the remaining 750 vehicles will be introduced.
