Dell recalls hybrid power adapter, power bank combo over shock hazard


Dell is recalling its Hybrid Power Adapters sold with power banks which pose a shock risk.

The company has announced a recall for versions of the combo produced between January 2017 and March 2017 after it was revealed that the hybrid power adapter casing can damage and detach, disclosing the internal metal items, posing an electrical shock hazard.

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission writes that about 8,900 units were sold with approximately 475 in Canada.

Consumers are instructed to instantly stop using the recalled hybrid power adapters as well as contact Dell for directions on receiving a free replacement adapter.
