On Thursday, India and Bangladesh have signed an MOU with India’s Serum Institute which has developed the AstraZeneca vaccine. As per the deal, India will provide around 3 crore dosage of vaccine to the neighboring country.

This deal is a double benefit for both the countries as it will strengthen their relationship and help Bangladesh fight with covid-19. Officials of both countries have signed the Memorandum of Understanding in Dhaka.

The same is confirmed by Zahid Maleque who is the health minister of Bangladesh. He further said Bangladesh will buy every month from India once it successfully passes all the trials.

The vaccine is considered safe and effective but questions have been raising on its effectiveness after a manufacturing error came.

The error came soon after the Oxford University and Serum Institute announced that AstraZeneca is highly effective. But, the officials of the Institute said the vaccine is 60-70 percent effective against the virus so there is nothing to panic about.

Every country is waiting eagerly for the vaccine and PM Narendra Modi has advised the world to be united in this fight. Together we can fight this disaster.

After Bangladesh, countries like South Korea, Austria, Bhutan, Qatar, Myanmar, Bahrain, and Switzerland are also interested in India’s vaccine development.
