New Delhi: Saturday, The National Health Authority(NHA) said beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat will now get the free test and treatment for covid-19. The trial and treatment are free of cost, even at private labs and hospitals listed under the scheme.
Ayushman Bharat is the most significant health scheme. Giving free tests and treatments will help the country to deal with the present situations. Moreover, the public facilities are already offering free tests and treatment to the infected people. “There are more than 50 crore beneficiaries of the schemes which can get the facility of free tests at the private labs as well, “ NHA said in a statement.

The authorized testing facilities are available for the hospitals that come under the scheme. The Indian Council For Medical Research (ICMR) has set some protocols for the test. Private labs conducting test must follow all the protocols. However, only the approved or registered private labs by the ICMR can perform the tests. The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana will also cover the treatment of covid-19 patients.
PM Narendra Modi launched the Ayushman Bharat scheme in September 2018 as a flagship scheme. It covers people from the secondary and tertiary levels. All the poor people who cannot afford the medical health expense are eligible for the scheme. AB-PMJAY is also the most significant health scheme worldwide, including more than 50 crore people.
