On the other hand, people are not eating outside food as well and the restaurants are seeing a massive downfall in their income. Zomato that delivers food is also facing troubles due to this.

No provision has been made for home deliveries if alcohol however it will solve the problem of overcrowding. However, International Spirits and Wines Association of India (ISWAI) is trying to improvise the norms along with Zomato.

Zomato for food delivery CEO Mohit Gupta said:

“We believe that a technology-enabled home delivery based solution can promote responsible consumption of alcohol,”

In an unpublished document, Mohit said that they would target the less affected areas,

“areas that are relatively less affected by COVID-19,”

Amrit Kiran Singh, chairman of ISWAI said that state should allow home delivery of alcohol as it will help in boosting the revenues as well.

“The challenge is to ensure revenue from alcohol continues to be available,”

“…It is imperative they (states) reduce the load on the retail counter … by encouraging home delivery.”

Waiting for any further confirmation. If they pack together a major problem can be solved benefitting people, economy and Zomato.
