Comedian Vir Das’s Two Indias Monologue Triggers Criticism For Insulting Country

“I come from India where we worship women during the day and gang-rape them during the night.” Hard-reality but when expressed on the global platform and that to be by famous influencer and comedian Vir Das, it hits even harder. Das, who performed a day ago at John F Kennedy Center, is being called an artist who disrespected the country for fame.

His “Two Indias” monologue was not at all a comedy but it did make the audience laugh but deep down it hurt the sentiments of many Indians. He is now facing legal actions for his words and fans are criticizing him in his own style.

Few agree with what Vir said in the clip but it did not there; the comedian is facing legal actions as a complaint against him is filed at Mumbai Police station by a lawyer. Vir Das has responded to it expressing that his intentions were to show India as a great country despite struggling with so many issues.
