On Saturday, Actor Manoj Bajpai, who is known for his brilliant acting skills, was honored with Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award, from President Ram Nath Kovind at the ceremony held in Rashtrapati Bhawan.
The 49-year-old actor expressed his happiness on receiving the great honor and tweeted, “It was an honour and a privilege sir @rashtrapatibhvn.”
Not just Manoj, even his fellow celebrities also celebrated his victory by posting congratulatory tweets for the actor.
Many other celebs including Anupam Kher, Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pedenkar, Randeep Hooda, Anurag Kashyap, Hansal Mehta, Adil Hussain, Sonu Sood, took it to their Twitter handle and posted congratulatory messages for the actor.
Anupam greeted the actor with a congratulatory message and wrote, “Congratulations dearest @BajpayeeManoj for this honour. I am sure this is just the beginning. Love and happiness always. Manoj Bajpayee receives Padma Shri from President Kovind.”
Taapsee who shared the screen with Manoj in ‘Naam Shabana’ also posted a congratulatory tweet as she wrote, “Mubarak ho sir !!!”
Bhumi, who recently worked alongside the actor in ‘Sonchiriya’ posted a sweet message. She posted, “Congratulations Sir…we’ve learnt so much from all your performances and more than that enjoyed watching them..more power to you.”

Randeep took to his Twitter account and congratulated the actor saying, “Congratulations @BajpayeeManoj.. well deserved and more.”
Manoj Bajpayee is best recognized for his exceptional performances in films like ‘Satya’, ‘Pinjar’, ‘Aligarh’, ‘Rajneeti’, ‘Sonchiraiya’, ‘Zubeidaa’ and ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ series.
On March 11, the Padma Awards were presented in two ceremonies in New Delhi. Actor Mohanlal was received the Padma Bhushan, actor-choreographer-director Prabhudeva was honored with the Padma Shri and musician Shankar Mahadevan received the Padma Shri.
Late legendary actor, Kader Khan, who passed away on December 31 last year, was awarded Padma Shri (posthumous i.e. after death).
This year’s award list included four Padma Vibhushan, 14 Padma Bhushan and 94 Padma Shri recipients.
The Padma Awards were announced on the eve of Republic Day, including 21 women and 11 foreigners, NRIs, PIO, OCI, and a transgender person.
For this year’s Padma awards, the government had received about 50,000 nominations.
