Suzuki has launched its new bike in India. It is a middleweight supersport bike, named Suzuki GSX-8R. It is priced at Rs 9.25 lakh (ex-showroom). This bike was first showcased at the India Mobility Expo earlier this year. This bike will be available in three color options, including Metallic Matte Sword Silver, Metallic Triton Blue and Metallic Black No. 2. This bike can compete with other bikes including Triumph Daytona 660 and Kawasaki Ninja 660. Let us tell you about it in detail.
Suzuki GSX-8R Bike Engine
The GSX-8R has vertically stacked LED headlights, a sleek air intake, and a short, raised rear section. The bike is powered by a 776 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that generates 81.8 hp of power at 78 Nm. Its power output is almost equal to the Tata Punch. This engine is shared with Suzuki’s V-Strom 800 DE ADV. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and also gets a bi-directional quick-shifter.
Suzuki GSX-8R Features
In terms of braking, the Suzuki GSX-8R gets twin 310 mm discs at the front and a single 240 mm disc at the rear. It rides on 17-inch wheels with Dunlop Roadsport 2 radial tires. One of the biggest features of the GSX-8R is Suzuki’s Intelligent Ride System. It has three riding modes, which include 4-step switchable traction control, ride-by-wire technology, ABS, and a low-rpm assist system. It also gets a 5-inch color TFT-LCD console.
