BYD eMax 7: Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has launched its new electric MPV eMax in the Indian market Both variants have the option of six seater or seven seater layout. Which has been introduced with a new, updated design, new features and a better range than before. BYD claims that the car covers a range of 530 kilometers on a single full charge.
Exterior
- The BD Amex 7 gets updated LED headlamps and an ATO 3-liter grille.
- The company has also upgraded its bumper and new internal lighting paths have been provided in its headlamps.
- The body shape of the car is similar to the E6,But it has been given new 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
- Sleek LED tail lamps are provided in the rear, which are connected to a thin chrome strip.
- Four color options are available in the electric MPV. These include Quartz Blue, Cosmos Blue, Crystal White and Harbor Grey.
Interior
The cabin of BYD eMax gets dual-tone black and brown interior theme. The dashboard of the car is in all-black color, which has been given a chrome strip to give it a sporty look. The car has been offered in 6 and 7 seater options and its seats have brown leatherette upholstery.
Its door pads have also been covered with soft-touch leatherette. Chrome inserts are provided on the steering wheel. These chrome elements are also seen in the form of reflections and doors. Ambient lighting is also provided on its doors. Its driver seat can be electrically acclimated in 6 ways, while the co-driver seat can be electrically acclimated in 4 ways.
Features
In terms of safety, the eMAX 7 is expected to have several advanced features like six airbags, 360-degree camera, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ventilated leatherette seats and three-point seatbelts. BYD eMAX 7 also has ADAS features. However, the company has not disclosed the level of ADAS available in the MPV.
Performance
BYD eMAX 7 comes with two battery pack options. The first-class BYD eMAX 7 Premium has a 55.4kWh battery. It has a different power output of 161 bhp and 310 Nm and its range is said to be 420 kilometers. At the same time, the Superior variant has a 71.8kWh battery, which provides a range of 530 km on charging. This version generates power of 201 bhp and torque of 310 Nm and its range on a single charge is said to be 530 kilometers.
Both variants of the eMax 7 come with a 7kW AC charger. At the same time, DC fast charger up to 89kW is supported for the Premium variant and up to 115kW for the Superior. Vehicle-to-load charging is also provided in eMax 7, which can power other devices. The electric MPV comes with a battery warranty of 8 years/1.6 lakh kilometers and a motor warranty of 8 years/1.5 lakh kilometers.
Price in Indian market
Essentially the successor to the BYD e6, the BYD eMAX 7 is priced at RS 26.90 lakh, ex-showroom, for the premium six-seater version. Whereas the price of the seven seater version is RS 27.50 lakh. For now, the Superior trim level starts at RS 29.30 lakh for the six-seater version. And the price of the seven seater version goes up to RS 29.90 lakh. Despite a drop in the starting price compared to the outgoing model, the new electric MPV has better design, features and mechanical upgrades over the outgoing model
