American President Donald Trump has threatened that the US would withdraw from WHO funding forever if the World Health Organization did not promise real improvements within the next 30 days.
In a letter to WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyes, the US President said that the whole world is suffering punishment for your organization’s repeated mistakes regarding the coronavirus. Trump also said that he would consider withdrawing from membership of the WHO.
If the WHO does not commit to major substantive improvements within the next 30 days, I will make my temporary freeze of United States funding to the WHO permanent and reconsider our membership.
