BMW India has launched yet another limited edition based on its existing line-up of vehicles. This time, it is the BMW X7 Signature Edition, which will be locally produced at BMW’s Chennai plant. Priced at Rs 1.33 crore, the SUV will be available only in the petrol xDrive40i variant and in limited numbers.
What’s new?
Since it is a limited edition, the BMW X7 Signature Edition features mainly cosmetic changes. It now features a chrome bar on the grille, updated LED headlights with Swarovski glass crystals, aluminium roof rails with satin finish and a similar treatment for the window beltline.
The LED taillights have been revised with new internal elements and a smoked glass effect for the connecting chrome bar. It is available in two paint options: Tanzanite Blue and Dravit Grey.
BMW X7 Signature Edition: Exterior
The car gets crystal headlamps on the outside, with Swarovski glass-cut crystals in front, which provide excellent illumination. It gets aluminium satinised roof rails and aluminium satinised exterior elements that enhance the luxury appeal of the sports activity vehicle. Its central air intake is framed by two attractive chrome air vents.
BMW X7 Signature Edition: Interior
It gets a curved display. Leather is applied around the separate instrument panel. Also, it gets iDrive control tyres, audio control buttons and start/stop button, Sky Lounge panoramic glass sunroof, backrest cushions for rear passengers, 16 speakers and a Harman Kardon surround sound system.
BMW X7 Signature Edition: Powertrain, Specs
The X7 Signature Edition gets the same 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid technology. This engine produces 381hp and 520Nm of peak torque, allowing this three-row SUV to accelerate from 0-100kph in 5.8 seconds. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox with an xDrive all-wheel drive setup.
Additionally, the engine is mated to a 48V electric motor that produces 12bhp of power and 200Nm of torque, helping in achieving greater efficiency. The BMW X7 competes with three-row luxury SUVs like the Mercedes GLS, Volvo XC90 and the Audi Q7.
