BMW 2023 M2 Review : Entry To The M Family

bmw

Truth be told, BMW’s new M2 has something of a similar story. A car that seems to draw heavily from the strands of DNA left by the great M cars of the past, it is a car that attempts to get as close as possible to the analog rear-wheel-drive M cars of yore, but with a generous helping of modern tech.

Let us look at each feature one by one-

2023 BMW M2: first impression

They are made of one piece, provide excellent lateral, shoulder, and leg support, and the bolsters can be adjusted with air cushions that are activated by electricity. Additionally, need to say, the M tones or the sprinkles of red, blue, and light blue look appealing on the seats and on the entryway cushions, where they enlighten.

The large quad exhaust stubs give off a familiar nasal blare at start-up, and as the right foot flexes, there is a deep rumble with a few muted pops on overrun.

2023 BMW M2: ride and handling

The clutch is far from light. The more you drive in rush hour gridlock, the more you will understand that the long travel grip is difficult to work. Additionally, the middle is quite springy, necessitating careful release. At low speeds, the gearbox’s rubbery feel makes it difficult to feel anything.

The guiding, nonetheless, is quite light in Solace and, who could have imagined, the M2 even rides well. This car has a suspension that is more absorbent even over medium and large bumps, which is a big change from the car before it, which had a bumpy and always busy ride.

2023 BMW M2: engine and performance

  • Reactions from low rpm are a piece loose and since this is a manual, you truly do feel the leeway as the super twists up.
  • The S58’s engine becomes significantly more responsive when you select Sport or the new “Track” mode; however, after approximately 3,000 rpm, the engine only begins to accelerate toward its 7,200 rpm redline.
  • From that point on, it’s one long, hard push in the back until the red line.
  • Although it does not pull as freely toward the top as a naturally aspirated six-shooter, there is so much explosive energy and power concentrated in the final 2,000 rpm that you barely notice it.

2023 BMW M2: interior and features

The interior of this BMW is completely up to date, in contrast to the cabin of the earlier M2, which had a feel and quality that would just about pass for premium. The cabin clearly appears more mature from the front. It’s bigger, has more room, and the build quality and kit it comes with are much better.

It is also beautifully constructed and assembled. The carbon-fiber panels, leather, and highlights of brushed aluminum work extremely well together. The enormous curved display gives the cabin an even more opulent feel.

Verdict and price

The new M2 draws a lot of attention to itself with its box fenders, “wide body kit,” and new nose. Additionally, it conforms to the show. The chassis has great poise and a lot of grips, the twin-turbo straight six has a lot of explosive power, turns off the electronic nannies, and there are also a lot of sideways.

It is likely to be expensive, at an estimated price of Rs 1. 27 crores, and that’s a big jump over the earlier car. Still, think of this as a junior M3 rather than a new M2 and the price jump will make sense.
