Bajaj Auto has reduced the price of its CNG bike Freedom-125 by up to Rs 10,000. The base drum variant of the bike has become cheaper by Rs 5 and the mid-spec drum LED variant by Rs 10 thousand. At the same time, the price of the top variant is still kept at Rs 1.10 lakh only. After the price cut, its price ranges between Rs 89,997 to Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
Bajaj has announced a price cut of the world’s first CNG bike within 6 months of its launch. The company launched Bajaj Freedom 125 in the Indian market on July 5 this year. There are two fuel options to run the bike i.e., 2 liter petrol tank and 2 kg CNG tank. Filling both of them once will give a mileage of 330km.
Freedom 125 CNG Design
Freedom 125 CNG has been given an excellent commuter design. It is a 125cc motorcycle and its simple styling includes elements like a round headlight (LED for the top spec and mid-model, and halogen for the base model), a long single-piece seat and an upright rider triangle.
Bajaj Auto MD Rajiv Bajaj said, ‘The company will target customers stressed almost rising running costs with the CNG model. Bajaj says, ‘We will make a portfolio of CNG bikes, which will include 100CC, 125CC and 150-160CC bikes.’
Power and Performance:
The weight of a CNG tank when completely filled with gas is 18kg. The company claims a mileage of 100 km/kg on CNG and 65kpl when using petrol. It has a 125cc single-cylinder engine, which generates power of 9.5 PS and peak torque of 9.7Nm. This engine can run on both petrol and CNG.

- The Freedom 125 bike has the longest seat in the segment. Seat length is 785 mm.
- A common fuel tank cap cover is provided for filling CNG and petrol.
- In the Freedom 125 bike, a 2kg CNG tank is placed under the seat.
- The bike features a strong trellis frame and segment first linked monoshock.
- The CNG bike has a reverse LED console with Bluetooth connectivity.
- It will be exported to Egypt, Tanzania, Colombia, Peru, Bangladesh and Indonesia.
