Australia vs Namibia: Australia qualified for the Super 8s after beating Namibia by nine wickets at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on Wednesday. Chasing a target of 73, Australia’s Travis Head (34 off 17 balls), David Warner (20 off 8 balls) and Mitchell Marsh (18 off 9 balls) reached the target in 5.4 overs before the powerplay ended.
In the first innings, skipper Gerhard Erasmus was one of only two Namibia batsmen to reach double figures in a T20 World Cup encounter against Australia as the side was bundled out for 72.

Australia defeated Namibia by a big margin in the 24th match of the T20 World Cup 2024 on Wednesday. In the match played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua, Namibia batted first and the entire team was all out for 72 in 17 overs. In reply, Australia achieved the target by losing one wicket with 34 balls to spare.

- Australia registered the second-biggest win with balls remaining in the history of T20 World Cup. The record of registering victory with the most balls remaining is registered in the name of Sri Lanka, which won the match against the Netherlands in 2014 with 90 balls remaining.
- Adam Zampa completed his 100 wickets in T20 International cricket. Zampa became the first Australian bowler to take 100 wickets in T20I. He became the 15th bowler in the world and one of the six leg spinners to take 100 wickets in T20I.
- Adam Zampa became the Australian bowler to take the most wickets in the T20 World Cup. Zampa has taken 31 wickets in the T20 World Cup so far. He surpassed Mitchell Starc (29). Adam Zampa entered the special club by winning the Player of the Match award in the T20 World Cup for the fifth time.
- Zampa is now jointly in second place with Mahela Jayawardene, Chris Gayle and Shane Watson. Virat Kohli (7 times) holds the record for winning the most Player of the Match awards in the T20 World Cup. Namibia scored their lowest score in T20 International cricket. Earlier, their lowest score was 96 runs against Sri Lanka in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Namibia has become the team to be all out for the lowest score against Australia.
- Earlier in the 2021 T20 World Cup, Bangladesh was bundled out for 73 runs by Australia. An embarrassing record was registered in the name of Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus. Erasmus opened his account after 17 balls. Erasmus has registered the unwanted record of opening the account after the most balls in T20 International cricket. Earlier this record was in the name of Tanmay Mishra of Kenya, who opened his account after 16 balls against Pakistan in 2007.
- Namibia made the second lowest score in the first 10 overs in the T20 World Cup. Namibia’s team could score only 27 runs after losing 5 wickets in 10 overs against Australia. Afghanistan’s record still stands, which scored 26 runs after losing 8 wickets in 10 overs against England in 2012.
