Audi F1 2026 Ready To Come To Auto Shanghai

Audi has publicized in August 2022 that it wants to associate with Formula 1 as an engine supplier for the 2026 season. After two months, the luxury automaker from Germany part of the Volkswagen Group attained a deal with Sauber. 

At the end of January 2023, it took over a minority stake in the Swiss F1 team. Later in April, a show car will be showcased at the Auto Shanghai 2023 as a part of the firm’s plan to reveal more information about its F1 entry.

The revelation was made by a spokesperson for the Four Rings in an interview with Automotive News Europe. The answer to the question ‘Why the Auto Shanghai event was picked up as a venue for displaying the new F1 concept car,’ the Audi spokesperson replied that China shows the firm’s single biggest market. 

The spokesperson further added that F1 has a big fan following in the People’s Republic. 

Additionally, taking the car to China will be applauded by fans after various cancellations of the Chinese Grand Prix resulting by the covid-19.

It is anticipated that the Auto Shanghai 2023 will be started on April 18 having the first press day and will conclude on April 27 the last public day. 

However, 2026 is still very far, two main alterations have so far been publicized. F1 cars will operate on entirely synthetic fuel as obstructed to today when renewable ethanol stands for just 10% of the entire mix. 

The turbocharged V6 engines will be live, however, the electric power will come for up to 50% of the complete output. The FIA World Motor Sport Council also touts minimized operation costs to attract newcomers.

This thing has so far happened with Sauber/Audi and Red Bull/Ford.

Porsche has also shown its interest to associate with F1, but negotiations with Red Bull drop over 2022 as the Zuffenhausen brand’s proposal for a 50:50 agreement was not accepted.

In spite of not having success to attain a deal with Red Bull, Porsche revealed in October 2022 it yet wishes to associate with the world’s biggest motorsport competition.
