Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra will be launched globally on February 6. The handset is expected to have features similar to the ROG Phone 9, which was introduced in the market in November 2024. Recently, a teaser from the company showed the design of the front panel and hinted at a “change”. It is being said that the upcoming smartphone will be the successor to the Zenfone 11 Ultra, which was introduced in March 2024. It may get a redesigned rear camera module compared to the current variant.

Asus has shared a teaser of the upcoming Zenfone 12 Ultra handset in an X post. In the accompanying image, we can see the front panel of the handset. It seems to have thin bezels and a centered hole-punch slot at the top to house the front camera.
Design changes
The teaser hints at significant changes to the relay camera module. The new camera design could make the ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra even more attractive in the coproduction market.
Asus ZenFone 12 Ultra specifications
- In terms of optics, like the Asus ROG Phone 9, the ZenFone 12 Ultra could feature a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 1/1.56-inch 50MP Sony LYTIA 700 primary sensor, a 13MP ultrawide-angle shooter, and a 5MP macro lens. The phone could also feature a 32MP selfie camera for clear selfies and video calls.
- The Asus Ultra model could pack a 5,800mAh battery with 65W fast-charging support and 15W wireless charging.
- Apart from this, the company is also saying that the ZenFone 12 Ultra will mainly focus on AI features, especially on AI Snap, which appears to be AI-assisted lock autofocus.
- Asus is a strong name in the Indian PC market and has been focusing on its phones in the country for the last few years. But we haven’t seen the brand launch its premium smartphone in the country. However, as many companies have recently introduced their Ultra models in India, we hope Asus will consider bringing the 12 Ultra model once it goes public next month.
