Whether it’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag or Manjhi, Bollywood filmakers have never failed to perfectly portrait the success stories of famous personalities. This time Ashutosh Gowariker is all set to present another inspirational story which is about India’s homegrown brand, Lijjat Papad.
And guess who’s in the lead role?
Kiara Advani is selected for the leading role in the movie which is based on the story of housewives who had started the Lijjat Papad. A group of seven women from Mumbai in 1959 started a papad business with just Rs 80 which is now a million-dollar business.
All the seven housewives were semi-literate but experts in papad-making. Due to their poor financial condition and need to support their husband, they indulge in papad-making.
They borrowed money from a social worker. They rolled out the few packets of papad and sold them. This is how the journey of Lijjat Papad started.
