One of the renowned companies in flexible displays, LG, believes it’s too early to launch smartphones that fold, even as other manufacturers are competing to be the first in the foldable smartphone race.
LG’s president and head of the mobile communications (MC) division, and home entertainment (HE) division, Kwon Bong-Seok, said that during a press conference that the company is looking for a rebound in the business by focusing on phones using 5G.
Kwon said that for the foldable smartphones, the company has already announced a rollable TV which is one step ahead of foldable technology.
LG has not yet decided to produce a foldable smartphone as it plans to regain its market share by launching a 5G smartphone.
As per the latest technology news, LG said it will introduce the V50 ThinQ 5G and G8 ThinQ smartphones before Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.
