As Per BCCI Treasurer: Pandya, Rahul Have Brought Cricket Into Shame: Facing criticism, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul following their controversial remarks against women on the chat show ‘Koffee with Karan’, (BCCI) Board of Control for Cricket in India financial officer Anirudh Chaudhry said that the players have brought the game into disrepute.
On Thursday, in a letter to the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrator (CoA) member Diana Edulji, Anirudh Chaudhary said, “The players (KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya) who appeared on the show have definitely brought the game and Indian cricket, and cricketers into disrepute by their words and admitted conduct.”
He added-on to say, “The provisions of the earlier contracts and the practice in place would have required these contracted players to seek permission to appear on the show. Was such permission sought?”
Hardik Pandya who shared with Koffee couch with his teammate and friend Rahul on the latest episode of Karan Johar’s show faced repercussions for what netizens termed ‘sexist’ and ‘disrespectful’ remarks on women.
On the chat show, Pandya bragged about not asking the names of women at parties and how he watched them move on the dance floor. Pandya admitted that he “got a bit carried away” as he made clear his bragging about his expertise with women on the show.
Later on, Pandya took to his social media account and apologized for the incident saying he “may have got a bit carried away with the nature of the show”.
