Eluru, Andhra Pradesh: The state is witnessing a strange situation since past few days when more than 100 people are admitted at the same time in the hospital.

More than 350 people are suffering from a mysterious illness that shows normal symptoms like nausea, dizziness, burning eyes, frothing, headache, seizures, and shivering. One of the patients have died due to it on Sunday evening after being admitted in the Eluru’s GGH hospital.

The number of patients are rising but the good news is that only one patient has died so far. 186 are discharged and rest are under the treatment as per the health officials.

This sudden onset has raised the concern of health officials and AP Chief Minister YS Reddy. He will visit the hospital today and conduct a meeting on the current situation of the state with the health and district officials.

Steps Taken So Far By The State Administration

  • Seeing the present condition in the state, holiday has been declared in the educational institutions.
  • The Eluru Municipal Corporation Office has also set up a control room to monitor the whole situation.
  • Random samples of milk has also been taken for examination
  • Health experts and team of doctors will soon reach to Eluru to figure out the source of illness

So far, there is no identification of the cause of disease even though tests like CT scan and blood tests have been done. Even the covid-19 test reports are normal still the conditions of patient’s are getting worsen.

Health officials are waiting for the results of culture test and E-coli to figure out the identifiable cause of illness.

The State administration has requested people not to panic as most of the patients condition is stable. Deputy CM further assures, “proper Medicare will be given to every patient.”

Even Centre after getting the news from AP Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney said we will give every possible help to the patients.
