Alex Roca is a Spanish athlete born in Barcelona in 1991. He has participated in and completed a 42kms long Marathon Race held in Barcelona. Alex Roca Campillo has become the first person ever with a 76 percent disability to win the Marathon as he ran 42.195km on Sunday.

Alex Roca is a 32-year-old athlete from Barcelona who has become an inspiration for the world. He suffered cerebral herpes which caused cerebral palsy with a 76% physical disability that has affected the left side of his body.

Alex mostly does all of his daily life chores on his own including driving a car. Moreover, he is educated and currently works as an accountant. He lives with his partner Mari Carmen Maza who is his interpreter for those who don’t know sign language.

Alex Roca has quite an inspirational story for athletes as he has been into sports since he was young. Despite suffering from cerebral palsy, he first started playing football and then he tried tennis. He later started practicing athletics and cycling the most.

He participated in his first race of 10 kilometers (El Corte Inglés). Moreover, he also ran in the 2019 Barcelona Half Marathon. He also became the first person to finish the Titan Desert with cerebral palsy.

Now, Alex Roca has become the first athlete with 76% disability to finish the marathon at Barcelona Marathon in 5 hours, 50 minutes, and 51 seconds. He is also currently the ambassador of the FC Barcelona Foundation.
