Ajay Devgan was born on April 2, 1969 in Delhi. His father Veeru Devgan was a famous stuntman of Hindi films. Ajay Devgan’s real name is Vishal Veeru Devgan and at the behest of his mother, he changed his name to ‘Ajay’.
Due to the film atmosphere at home, Ajay Devgan’s interest also turned towards films and he started dreaming of becoming a film director.

Ajay obtained his graduation degree from Mitthi Bhai College, Mumbai. He then went on to work as an assistant director with film director Shekhar Kapur. During this he met Kukku Kohli. His hairstyle also gained tremendous fame among the youth. Then in the year 1998, He got a chance to work in Mahesh Bhatt’s film ‘Zakhm’. He was awarded the National Award for Best Actor for this film.
At the same time, in the year 1999, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ proved to be very important for his career. Even with seasoned stars like Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai, Ajay Devgan brought his serious character alive on screen. In his career, his pairing with actress Kajol was well established. The two first appeared together in the film Hulchul (1995). After this, many filmmakers gave this pair a chance to work in their films. These films include films like ‘Gundaraj’, ‘Ishq’, ‘Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha’, ‘Dil Kya Kare’, ‘Raju Chacha’ and ‘You Me Aur Hum’. He married with Kajol in the year 1999. They have two children Nysa and Yug.
