Air India Suspends Contract Of 200 Pilots Due To Coronavirus Lockdown

The government announced an official 21-day lockdown of airlines to control the movement of people around the country. The Coronavirus pandemic has left a strong impact on the economy of India. Many migrants suffered as they had no money and place to live.

The govt is trying all possible things to overcome the deteriorating situation. The cases are steadily increasing creating panic in the country.

The national carrier has already chopped allowances by 10 per cent for all their employees except cabin crew. The decision was taken in order to save money during coronavirus lockdown.

On Thursday Air India temporarily suspended 200 contracts of pilots who rejoined the airlines after their retirement.

The 21v day lockdown period has suspended all airline operations due to which the airlines are undergoing a financial downfall.

An Official Said-

“Since almost all the planes have been grounded and the carrier’s revenues have taken a significant fall during the last few weeks, the airline has decided to temporarily suspend the contract of around 200 pilots who were re-employed after their retirement,”

The airlines have already cut allowances of employees except for cabin crew and have now suspended 200 pilots to save money during the global pandemic Coronavirus.
