7 Countries Where Covid-19 Booster Dose Is Mandatory To Travel

With the emergence of a new variant, Omicron, people are advised to take one more dose of the vaccine called the Covid booster shot. This is especially mandatory for travellers as a few countries are allowing only those with Covid-19 booster dose in addition to the previously recommended dosage.

1. Kuwait

On 26 December 2021, the government of Kuwait have made the decision to allow only that visitor to come in who are vaccinated with Covid booster. While residents of Kuwait, who are not vaccinated are not allowed to travel out of the country. Travellers are also required to show their negative PCR test reports.

2. Netherland

Health Minister of the Netherland, Hugo de Jonge has announced that they have shortened the credibility of vaccination certificates. From February 2022, only those people are allowed to travel Netherland who have taken vaccine dose within nine months. Vaccinated people didn’t require to follow any strict entry rules as long as there are no testing requirements.

3. Austria

The new set of rules of Austria indicates that the 2nd dose vaccination certificate is no longer acceptable if it is more than 9 months old. After this period of time, travellers have to show proof of Covid-19 booster dose and negative covid test result to visit Austria.

4. France

Due to rising cases of Coronavirus, France announced that visitors above the age of 65 will be observed as unvaccinated if they haven’t taken their booster shot. On 15th December 2021, French President Emmanuel Macron also said that both visitors and citizens must have booster shots after their fifth month of the second dose.

5. Croatia

Croatia is the first country in the world that give preference to the maximum number of vaccines. They stated that the visitors have to show proof of vaccination that is not older than one year. People who took their second dose in early 2021 will be required to show their Covid-19 booster dose certificate to visit Croatia.

6. Israel

Isreal made a record by having one of the fastest vaccine rollouts in the world. Afterwards, it reopened the international visits in the summer. But now the country reimposed the rules on it. Now Israel is only open to fully vaccinated people. Along with that people also have to wait for 14 days after the booster shot.

7. Greece

Along with all these countries, Greece also increased restrictions and made vaccine passports mandatory for certain indoor spaces like bars, cafes and restaurants. People over the age of 60, have to take their booster jabs next month or they will not qualify for the vaccine passport. These rules are both residents and visitors.
