Hood

World Records are highly impressive as they tell the world that nothing is impossible. People really go out of their way to make these records possible.

62-year-old, Hood has created new Guinness World Record by holding a plank for 8 hours 15 minutes. We often give the excuse of our age to not being active, this man has proved that age is not a restriction to stay fit.

Hood is a former marine and he set the record on February 15. He has earlier worked as a supervisory agent in the Drug Enforcement Administration.

After Hood lost the Mao Weidong of China he was very much determined to reclaim the title for which he trained himself for 7 hours for 18 months.

He talked about his workout regime:”

It’s 4-5 hours a day in the plank pose. Then I do 700 pushups a day, 2,000 situps a day in sets of a hundred, 500 leg squats a day. For upper body and the arms, I do approximately 300 arm curls a day.

He kept his motivation high even during the tough times:

When it gets tough, you know what I do? I turn that music up so loud, you’d think you’re at a rock concert. I always had a fantasy of being a rock star back in the ’80s. And at least for those 8 hours, 15 minutes and 15 seconds, I was a rock star.

Hood set the record for 8 hours 15 minutes and 15 seconds as an ode to his gym- 515 Fitness.
