Recently, Kamchatka peninsula was hit by an earthquake that reported to be shallow. According to the experts, it as huge however it did not harmed anyone because it is away too far from the mainland. Talingabutth deatails of earthquack then on RIchter scale, it was measured 7.8 and west of Attu is the epicentre of this earthquake. However it was huge but till now no damage or casualties are reported and that’s a good thing as there is no loss of life.
The earthquake has passed now as this information has reported by the US Pacific Tsunami Center and US Geological Survey. At 11:34 am, it struck the Kamchatka Peninsula which is 125 miles far from the Nikolskoye situated on Bering Island. However, people living near that Peninsula has been warned by the Russian emergency ministry.
They recently reported that wave could be 50 cm high and would reach to Nikolskoye and thus everyone around or near its should be warned. Along with this, The warning centre of Tsunami said that Tsunami wave might hit the coast however it was later said that the threat was passed according to the available data.
Previously, it was suggested that the earthquake was 7.7 magnitude however after it was revised again, its magnitude was reported 7.4 and then finally they went to a final decision where they upgraded it to 7.8. Well, this magnitude of earthquake has the capability to cause huge damage plus the area near it is prone to severe damage also.
Besides this, it did not stop there because various aftershocks followed the earthquake plus they all are above 5.0 magnitude. Good thing about this natural calamity is that not a single living being or any property had affected by it but experts are still worried about the it.
According to a report, there are still chances of Tsunami along with earthquake a it’s a nature and we couldn’t say anything very accurate about it. No, the government along with the geological experts are evaluating things properly so that future threats can be able to figure out plus they would capable of saving people on right time. The Russian ministry are working together in order to deal with such natural calamities if they affect the densely populated area.
