What GPT-4 said about the jobs it could replace

Now that GPT-4 is available, ChatGPT will only improve its capabilities. OpenAI, the company behind it, claims that the GPT-4 Language Model is even more creative and collaborative than before. Unfortunately, this could make people feel more insecure about their job prospects, but GPT-4 appears to have no qualms about it. When asked about the 20 jobs that it would replace, the AI chatbot shamelessly replied:

  1. Data Entry Clerk
  2. Customer Service Representative
  3. Proofreader
  4. Paralegal
  5. Bookkeeper
  6. Translator
  7. Copywriter
  8. Market Research Analyst
  9. Social Media Manager
  10. Appointment Scheduler
  11. Telemarketer
  12. Virtual Assistant
  13. Transcriptionist
  14. News Reporter
  15. Travel Agent
  16. Tutor
  17. Technical Support Analyst
  18. Email marketer
  19. Content Moderator
  20. Recruiter

The AI went on to list the human characteristics that can be replaced in these jobs. For example, a human would need to have great typing accuracy and speed to be successful at data entry. GPT-4 categorized these qualities in accordance with how quickly AI could replace them.

Naturally, the output shouldn’t be taken too seriously because GPT-4 still simply mimics human speech and isn’t entirely sure what it says.

Having said that, we had previously questioned GPT-3.5-based ChatGPT about what programmers and others in the media sector can do to protect themselves from the threat of AI in the future. The advice that the bot gave is worth checking out.
